Recommendation which hardware would be best

Hi,

I have a reed-switch telling me via voltage-spike when the control magnet is near. the reed-switch position and the control voltage can be freely chosen. This control circuit is then supposed to switch on the main circuit driving the main coil. So I have just have to read out the reed-switch "on" and "off" status and then switch on one of the relays with a certain delay and for a certain amout of time.

I want to use the NI-hardware to do tweaking on the timing, i.e. adjust firing of main circuit in relation to rpm (initiation, duration,...). It works kind of like commutator in a standard motor.

I thought about the NI-USB-6525. It features 8 digital input lines and 8 fast relays. So is my understanding right, that the digital input is able to interpret the reed-switch as "on" and "off"? Or do i need a analog input for this (unfortunately I didnt find a analog box in combination with the relays) ? And is the hardware fast enough as this motor is supposed to reach some rpms?

Which hardware would you recommend for the described task?

Thank you very much !!

Alex
