I have a multiaxis system (3 x PCI 7334 cards, 1 x MID-7604, 2 x UMI 7764 and 8 x third party amps connected to the UMIs) where I use the Inhibit inputs and the Inhibit outputs for thermal management. This is a system with motors in vacuum so cooling is not present and under certain conditions the motors can overheat. When a motor gets too hot the Inhibit input is activated (via 3rd party TC controller) thus the inhibit output is activated and the stepper amp is turned off (via digital enable on stepper amp). This unfortunately also happens when the computer reboots due to the Host Bus Interlock function on the UMI 7764 (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8896C879C13983734825750E00353CAD). I would like the stepper amps connected to the UMI 7764 to stay energized during the reboot cycle on the hoist PC. Is there a way to disable the Host Bus Interlock feature of the UMI 7764? Is there a possible work around this behaviour? Any help would be appreciated.
