I have been assigned by PI to run stepper motors on 3 axis and i have been given the NI MID-7604 stepper motor drive. While I am able to figure out how the encoders work for the most part, I don't know what type of motion controller I need for the drive. I read that it is recommended to use a PXI-7350, or maybe PXI-7334, but I am not certain of it.
I still am not sure exactly what my PI wants to use the axis for just yet, but all I know is that they wish for me to attempt to get the motors working and the axis moving.
Or is it possible to use the stepper motor drive without using a motion controller?
